Founded in 2008 by brothers, Gene and Christian McLaughlin, G.F. McLaughlin LLC has evolved from its humble beginnings in Wilmington, DE to now being a major presence in the construction industry in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. From the beaches of southern Delaware, through the greater Philadelphia area, to the brothers’ hometown in Northeastern Pennsylvania – G.F. McLaughlin LLC has proudly completed multi-dimensional projects for both residential and commercial clients. In 2012, Gene further expanded G.F. McLaughlin LLC to serve the West Coast, opening operations in Los Angeles, CA and building for high profile clients like Keith Urban and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Gene’s design for a Malibu house on the beach was featured on Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.

Quality, integrity and trust is how we’ve grown our business.” At the company’s founding, Gene and Chris shared a belief that they could offer a distinctly different, service oriented, personal approach to the construction industry while also honoring the principles of craftsmanship, quality, and integrity. G.F. McLaughlin’s insistence on quality of service, hard work, and responsiveness to client needs remains the company credo and has led to its success in a competitive industry. “It’s the culture of our company.” It is this mindset, combined with the unique talents of Gene and Chris, and their extensive experience in the residential and commercial building industry that G.F. McLaughlin LLC brings to each of its projects.
Meet the brothers
Gene
Gene attended Penn State University where he pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design and marketing, setting him on a path to be a marketing consultant in Connecticut. However after quickly reassessing that career path, Gene embarked on a new one leading him to move to Philadelphia and securing a job with Pulte Homes, the third largest builder in the country. He worked as project manager and gained extensive experience in the project management field by supervising a $330 million multi-use active community and overseeing a staff of 10 people.
Subsequently, Gene continued to gain first-class skills in land development, sales, construction management, and customer service. In 2006, he earned the coveted Pyramid Award from the Home Buyers Association of Chester and Delaware Counties as that year’s “Project Manager of the Year”.
With over 20 years of industry experience, award-winning proficiency, and a designer’s eye and style honed by his education, Gene stands apart from the average contractor.
Chris
Chris moved to Philadelphia with Gene in 1995 and began working as a plumber’s apprentice while also learning the intricacies of bathroom and kitchen installation. Throughout the years, Chris developed into a skilled tradesman with a diverse set of specialties including framing, plumbing, and kitchen/bathroom cabinet fabrication and installation. Serving for five years as an area warranty manager for regional market leader The McKee Group gave Chris the additional experience needed for his years as a construction superintendent. Prior to founding G.F. McLaughlin LLC, Chris’s main focus was customer service working as a Customer Care Manager for a large local developer of active adult communities. Chris is OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) trained and his knack for connecting with customers and clients is what makes his projects truly remarkable and enjoyable experiences for all involved. A veritable jack of all trades, Gene often says, “If a sub can’t figure it out, Chris can.”.
Chris’s mechanical expertise pairs beautifully with Gene’s eye for design and together they provide a full-service experience for their clients.
